Denver Mint & Capital

Going to the Denver Mint was on our list to visit while here in Colorado.  Here at the Denver Mint they make only coins.  We were able to see millions of pennies being made.  Of course they would not let you take pictures inside the Mint.  I guess they are afraid you will copy the process of make pennies.

After we visited the Mint we walked down to the Colorado State Capital.  This is one of the coolest state capitals that I have seen thus far.  All the railings in this building seemed to be covered in gold.  I guess when you are a city that makes your own money you can have gold covered whatever you want.  I wonder what the Governor's Mansion here in Denver looks like.  I bet the toilets are covered in Gold.

This is a view from a door out of the capital building.  You can see the mountains in the background.

MORE GOLD

Here the boys are laying on the steps of the Colorado State Capital ,which is a mile high.

The 10 commandments are posted on the lawn of the State Capital.

This is the most amazing view here in Colorado.  We just find this stunning.  We can wake up one morning and the mountains off in the distance will just be covered in snow.
