Last week in Alaska.

We tried to take in as much as we could  during our last week in Alaska.  We were amazed at how so much of the landscape had changed just from a few weeks earlier.  We found out that the different seasons in Alaska bring different landscape sences.  Alaska's fall brings bright colors of  leaves with a back drop of  termination snow on the mountain peaks.

We celebrated Heston's 11th birthday during this last week in Alaska.  He wanted a Nijago cake. We celebrated with his favorite dinner of hamburgers.  Our friends the Carruths from Hartwell flew up to vacation in Alaska.  We invited them to celebrate with us.  They helped make Heston's day special.  They gave him a movie that he wanted.  Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Carruth!!

We visited one of our favorite spots in Anchorage.  The Anchorage Airport is right on the water.  This beach area gives an awesome view of snow capped mountains and you  watch Alaska airlines fly in and out.

Drive on a fall day.

Mr. Magpie, he is so cute but even more amazing when he flies.  He has white tipped wings which makes him very interesting to watch while he flyies.

Guess where Santa keeps his reindeer, on THE REINDEER FARM of course. A trip to the North Pole would not be complete with out a visit to see Santa's Reindeer.

Heston feeds the moose at the reindeer farm.  The moose are Santa's back-up.

We attened a pirate party during our last week.

Anchorage is home to an indoor water park.  Never gets warm enough to have an outdoor water park.  So of course we squeezed in a visit.

Salmon berries are ready for picking up at Hatcher Pass. This berry makes great jellies, so I am told.  I did not have enough time to squeeze in a jelly making day.

The Carruths enjoyed the beauty of Hatcher pass and berry eating.

We visited Exit Glacier one last time.  This time we were able to walk up to the base of the glacier. Due to the cold weather is was not melting as much which slowed the flowing water to a trickle, allowing us to walk up.

Here Heston and Bryson climb aboard the frozen chunck of ice.

We were very blessed to have had one last oppertunity to be blessed when the lights came out.
