Aurora Borealis

One of Alaska's most unique characteristics would have to be it's Aurora lights.  We were so blessed to have been able to see them while we were living in AK.  They are truly amazing.  You're sitting in the dark cool night when all of a sudden the sky starts glowing with bright lights.

My words can not explain how awesome it is to witness this amazing phenomenon.

The bright green light moves from left to right, glowing brighter as it passes by.

The refection of the lights on the still waters just brighten the moment with it's reflection.

The light glows a green rainbow of color across the sky.  It's definitely a rainbow of northern lights.

We were able to witness the Northern lights several times.  We downloaded an app that gave us the best time to go out 'light hunting'.  I never really understood Johnny's thrill of deer hunting. He use to get out in freezing cold weather just to sit and wait on a deer to pass by.  After sitting out in the freezing cold to wait on a glimpse of the Northern Lights I understand the thrill.  I was willing to freeze to death just to get a camera shoot of the green glowing lights.

On this night, we saw red and purple colors in the sky.

Watching the northern lights never gets old. It's like watching the sun go down over the ocean.  It brings such an awe to life.  When you gaze upon something so majestic, you are reassured of how amazing our God truly is.  God's earth can be stunning in beauty, I can't even start to imagine how spectacular His heaven must be with the Crystal Sea and streets of Gold!!! (It's on my bucket list:-)
