October 31

First I would like to say “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” to my dad…. Love you daddy, hope your day is great !!!!

This evening we had a night full of fun…. Our neighbor Ms. Dina came over and brought the best pizza dough which made the best pizza. Thank you Ms. Dina!!!! We also had our friend Ms. Jessie who came over. Johnny took all the kids around the neighborhood. They came back with bags of candy, good thing we go to the dentist next week. Mr. Greg can clean all this sugar off our teeth.
When the kids came back they had dinner and watched Casper the Friendly ghost. Then after dinner they all dug into the bags of candy, now they are RUNNING around the house, bouncing off the walls. This house is just too small for lots of kids, but we make do. We enjoy the neighborhood kids being able to come over and play. They are so sweet. What a fun filled day!!!!!!!!!!!!
*The boys costumes were.... Heston- Sherlock Holmes.... Bryson - an Astronaut ...Trent - C3Po with R2D2. Trent made his costume.... Heston just out of the blue wanted to be Sherlock and Bryson saw his costume at the Air and Space Museum.
*Johnny and I wore matching shirts for the Incredibles....
*Trent enjoyed passing out candy....

Medical Museum

Medical Museum

We spent our morning at the Medical Museum here in Washington. It was kinda cool. Lots of neat exhibits on the human body. This museum was located on the grounds of Walter Reid Medical Center. I guess this is some type of military land so we had to show our ID’s. Our friend Shaun and Ms. Dina went with us. We all enjoyed seeing inside the body. A great day !!

Our visit to Amish Country.

While in Pennsylvania we visited Lancaster County. We knew that the Amish lived there and wanted to share with the boys a different type of culture. The boys really liked seeing the horse pulled buggies. The Amish people were really very nice and waved as they drove by.
The landscape was just gorgeous. We saw several covered bridges, which was really neat. Most houses had barns and silos, which made the view quite different from here in Waldorf. It was a different view even from back home in Georgia.
We just drove through late on a Sunday. We hope to go back sometime when we can stay longer and maybe even eat in an authentic Amish restaurant.

We took the tour through the plant and learned all about how Hershey’s chocolate is made. Then we sampled !! YUM,YUM!! We were so full from eating chocolate we did not even stop to eat lunch. We left Hershey and headed to Lancaster, PA.

Air and Scare !!

We spent our day today at the Air and Space Museum in Virginia. They had fun Halloween activities for the kids called "Air and Scare". The boys saw “Ghost Busters” and “Star Wars” characters. They posed for pictures with R2D2, Storm Troopers, and Ghost Busters. The boys were able to wear their costumes. Trent was a robot, everyone loved his costume. Bryson was a NASA Astronaut, and Heston was Sherlock Holmes. It was a rainy day today and therefore Trent’s Robot costume ‘rusted up’. He will have to visit the robot shop this week for repairs in preparation for next weekend

...........Visitors on Columbus Day Weekend, day 1.

On Columbus Day weekend, Johnny’s brother and family came to visit. They traveled a long way from Georgia just to see us. Maw-Maw sent them with lots of goodies for us all. In one picture you see Alissa and Bryson eating the delicious chocolate cookies that Maw-Maw made. She also made 2 pecan pies. I don’t eat pecan pies, but Johnny loved them. I enjoyed the chocolate cookies!! They were yummy!!!!!
We did lots of fun stuff while they were here. We started our adventure weekend off with a trip down to DC. Alissa wanted to see the air and space museum. We stopped on the National Mall to have a picnic dinner and then we walked all the way down to see Lincoln. By the time we finished day one it was dark so we were able to see DC at night. All the DC lights were just exquisite.

Last week!!

We have had a busy, sickly week. I,Vicky, have had some type of head cold. I can not seem to shake it. Needless to say I have not felt well enough to get my blog on. So, today I finally decided to post what happened in the life of us Mizes last week. To start off with we had our good friends, the Mayos come for a quick visit. We had a great time just sitting around and eating while we visited. Hope they can come back when they can stay longer.
Last weekend was an exciting time in the life of our hamster, Brownie. She was in her very first rat race. She did great!! She won her first heat. Way to go Brownie!! We had high hopes that she would go on to bring home the gold. Buuuuuuutttttt, due to hungry issues she decided to stop and have a snack during the second heat. OH well, maybe next year she will bring home the gold!!(the things we do for our kids, never in a million years would I have ever thought of having a hamster in a rat race....life can be interesting with 3 boys)(WHAT NEXT??)
