What a long and interesting journey this has been. We hit the road for the last leg of our journey. To our surprise we spotted wildlife on our path. We were so amazed we jumped out of the car and ran down the road to get a closer look. If a car had passed by they would have noticed that we were diffidently not from around these parts. Only tourist get out of their vehicle and chase down the wildlife. It was well worth the hike, we spotted a moose bathing in the lake.
We see a moose. Wish we could get a closer look but this is as far as we dare to go.
Wow, look it's a snow covered mountain. We feel like we are in Alaska now.
Finally we get the closer look at a moose, almost too close. This moose decided to parade right in front of our flying car.
Doesn't this moose know that it's hard to stop so quickly, just so he can cross.
Why did the moose cross the road.......to get to the other side, of course.
Wow, we are excited about being in the great state of Alaska.
The view is just amazing.
This is our first sight of a glacier. Can't wait to get up close and personal with one.
Lots of road construction on this last leg of our journey.
We are here! Our Alaska home will be in the Highland apartments.
We have a dust problem again. But we all get to work by dusting and unloaded and we are all settled in, in less than two hours.
Dust, yuk!

Our first week in and we get busy exploring our new town. If you look hard enough you can find lots of free stuff to do in any town. So I found that the Anchorage Museum has free days the first Friday of each month. Had a great time and enjoyed learning new things.
Don't play with bears, they are big !
Moose use their front legs to kick, stay away.

Anchorage Farmers market is a cool free thing to do on Saturdays. Not very much fruits or veggies but lots of homemade Alaska crafts and gifts.

Wild Berry is not far from our home. It's a neat little stop.
OOOOO, look that bear caught something.
We learned that this item is a way that the indigenous people would mark a path along a journey.
The most famous thing about Wild Berry is their chocolate fountain. The boys try to sneak a lick.
Wild Berry Park is by a stream, when we walked over to it we saw the Alaska salmon swimming up the stream. Wish I had a net, these fish are slow and the water is so clear I could have snagged one for dinner.

We celebrate the fourth of July in Anchorage by attending their Downtown celebration.
After being here in AK a few weeks and attending this celebration we feel that Alaska is one of the most patriotic state that we have been in. While at this celebration we heard the Declaration of Independence read, we sang the national anthem and participated in the pledge of alegents. This is the first town that we have ever been in that we were able to participation in these patriotic symbols. Most of the time we just see fireworks.
We also met Mr. Bald Eagle. You know him, he's on the back of the quarter.

Going hiking up to Flat top Mountain. It did not feel very flat, but we found snow.

My neighbor. Mrs. Moose and her baby.
We came home one day from the grocery store and this mama moose and her baby were hanging out in my front yard. Most Alasakans are not afraid of bears its the moose that scare them. So we decided to hang out in the car until this moose family decided to leave.
This is my front door and the moose decide to take a nap at the front walk way.
They really wanted us to invited them for dinner. They just wanted to grill out. After about 30 minutes the moose leave since we did not invite them to eat.
Great start to our time here in Alaska, we are excited about other cool adventures that will come our way.
